Effective Sept. 2007:
Demand accounts will have a ratchet clause in it. If the demand peaks higher than the figure currently used, this read will be used to re-calculate the demand charge and then be carried on for the next 11 months.

Account Fees- for Water & Electric Accounts:
  • A $25.00 "New Water" account fee or "New Electric" account fee (one or the other, not both) will be assessed when a new utility account is started with the Village of Tontogany. This is also referred to as a "New Customer Registration" fee.
This fee, if applicable, will be included on your first utility bill.
  • If a resident who has paid the account fee(s) moves within the Village of Tontogany service area, an additional new account fee will not be charged.
  • When a rental unit goes back into the sole name of the landlord, an account fee will not be charged.

Late Fees
A 10% late charge will be assessed on the unpaid balance of each month's billing after the due date.

Bad Check Fees:
When a check is returned, a $30 fee will be added to the account and the monies will be added back onto the account for payment.
